Emma as always is a very talkative girl. As of late there has been no end to the new words she discovers on any give day. One of my favorites is "cake". She thinks everything Rob & I are eating is "cake". We think she got this at her Nana's birthday party when everyone was passing cake around. All the adults ate cake so now she thinks our food is called cake. Very funny! As always her ABC's are getting better and better. It is easily her favorite song. Some of her many words are: dolly, baby, night-night,booo-berries (or B's as she likes to call them), waffle, see ya, come in (when door bell rings), kitty (with kitty sounds), puppy (with the sound uff, uff)& again. She is always asking where are Mama? or Dadda?, Papa (my Dad)?, nana(Rob's mom)?, and so on. So as you can see she is very chatty.
Emma can also identify many parts of her body; feet, belly, nose, & eyes. She also says shoes and socks. If you ask her to show you her feet she will take her shoes and socks off to show you. She is creative that if for sure. She also says "mooo" for her favorite cow puppet. She is also a huge fan of the Cookie Monster and whenever she sees him she shouts "COOKIE" in a raspy voice. She also recognizes Elmo in a store. She is a huge Sesame Street fan for sure.
Now that the weather has been getting warm Emma has taken a liking for taking walks, big girl style. No stroller! Just me and her. She holds my hand and we walk around the neighborhood. We did have some difficulties at first with getting her to hold my hand but when she refused I would scoop her up and bring her home. She learned quickly and now we take nice walks together. She has a tree next door that she has to stop at and say "Hi teee (tree)". She knows every house that has a dog. She stops, looks for the puppy and says "uff, uff" when she sees him/her and when they bark she gets excited and barks back "Uff, Uff". Sadly Emma does not understand that on some days it is too cold or getting too dark to walk. She grabs my hand and says "Walk Mama peez (please)?" and we have to tell her no which devastates her. Now we have to spell W-A-L-K in order to not upset her when she hears the word. I just hope she doesn't catch on to us!
Enjoy the spring weather! We are!
Laurie, Rob & Emma
