A great weekend!

What a weekend! Saturday morning we had Emma's 9 month check-up with Dr. McKenzie. Naturally she is the picture of heath. We were glad to hear we were doing everything right. As new parents you worry if you are doing the right things (especially me)! Developmentally she is progressing well, she is very healthy and as you can all see she is very happy. She weighed in at 19lbs 5 oz- I was guessing she was 20 so I was close. We have now reached the age where we can try giving Emma new foods. She had yogurt this morning and it was a big hit. She even had a little taste of cake yesterday. Her reaction to anything new is hysterical, she makes the funniest faces.

We also attended a Kentucky Derby BBQ at a neighbor's house on Saturday afternoon. She is a native of Kentucky and we learned a lot about the Derby and it's traditions. There was great food, yummy drinks (mint juleps) and fun people. We even did some friendly betting. It was all random and we went home empty handed but we had a great time!

She is still working on crawling- getting further everyday! She is also trying to pull herself up onto the sofa. Of course the last time I saw her start to do it I grabbed the video camera and as soon as she heard the little beep that turns it on, she turned, sat down and decided to put on a show for the camera instead! She is such a ham.

Yesterday we spent the day celebrating our beloved Father Joe's 50Th anniversary in the priesthood. There was a lovely mass (although I spent it in back of the church with the other moms and babies- it was like Romper Room), and a very nice reception to follow. Below you will find some pics from Fr. Joe's event as well as some pictures of Emma's play date with her friends Lucy and Abby from last weekend. Enjoy and have a great week!
